A mystery is a logical novel or story about mysterious events that are not explained until the end to as to keep the reader in suspense.
Some characteristics are that (1) the detective(s) is/are the protagonist and the antagonist is/are the criminal(s), (2) the criminal is caught at the end and the mystery is solved,(3) the rising action's
involves the mystery, and the climax involves detective(s) trying to solve it.Other characteristics are that (4) the mysteries are usually murder, kidnap, stolen things, etc. (5) there can be one big mystery or a series of small mysteries (When there is a series of mysteries, they are usually the same action from the same criminal).
So... where is the criminal?
Well, there's a footprint...
A few books/series I recommend are:
1. Goosebumps
2. Nancy Drew Mysteries(Comic and chapter books)
3. To Kill a Mockingbird
4. A Series of Unfortunate Events
I recommend this book because the author, Carolyn Keene, shows but doesn't tell, and each character has 100% different personality. I also recommend this book
because the author makes something sound a bit more dramatic than it really is to add lots more suspense.
The Secret of the Old Clock
.
I recommend this book because the author puts in a lot of humor. I also recommend this book because the author turns a molehill into a mountain to compare and contrast to make a few parts sound so ridiculous it's freaky.
The Bad Beginning
I recommend this book because it adds a lot of suspense to the book, but you keep thinking whether you should just flip to the end or not, because the story is so interesting. I also recommend this book because the author really knows how to make something sound so weird it's scary.
Goosebumps: Into the Jaws of Doom
I recommend this book because this book demonstates loyalty and shows what's right and what's wrong. I also recommend this book because it makes a person feel very moved, because you protect someone with your life.
