Mystery Fiction

Definition-
a novel or story about a mysterious event/events which are not explained until the end, to keep the reader in suspense.
Characteristics-
-main characters solve the mystery or problem in the story, answering "the big question"
-usually contemporary realistic fiction, but can merged with other genres
-when reading this genre, the plot is the series of events leading to the answer of the "big question"
-usually logical or the mystery could not be solved
-mystery must be solved at the end of the book or series
Summary
Mystery is a genre (type of book) that leaves you wanting to know what will happen next. It is usually about a main character or characters that solve a problem. Sometimes the problem can be caused by another person who's in conflict with the main character.
