What are biographies and autobiographies?
A biography is a book written about a person's life but it is written by a different person. A autobiography is a story where a person writes about his or her own life.

What does biography include?
A biography normally has a family tree and a timeline line of the person and his or her life. It also includes pictures and portraits of the person, which is my favorite part of the genre. This genre also includes documents that the person wrote. For example, I read Yes We Can, which has the scripts of president Obama's speeches and letters that he sent. A biography is always written in third person.

What does an autobiography include?
Unlike the genre biography, an autobiography is a book about the author's own life. Consequently, an autobiography is written in first person. It includes many of the same characteristics of biography though...It often includes pictures and photos of the author and famous documents that he has prepared. My favorite part of an autobiography is how sometimes it is written like a journal.
