Traditional Literature/ Myths

Traditional literature are stories that
are passed down orally throughout history. Includes folktales, fairytales, myths, legends, and epics! But, this particular wiki is going to be more focused in myths. Myths are usually changed a little bit everytime they are passed down because the storyteller sometimes forgets a bit of the story so they IMPROVISE. But, most of the time, they don't forget, so don't ask your local story teller if he/she forget anything, or improvised. No, really, DON'T. But anyway's.... here are some of the characteristics about Myths.
THEME

  • Are usually about Gods vs humans, or vice versa.( ex. Archane vs Athena)
  • Some made to explain some the mysteries of Earth.( ex. like the creation of the universe by Brahma)
  • But, more or less all of them include a magical creature. YAY!( ex. like the Jersey devil)

Setting

  • The setting is usually in the ancient past.
  • Some myths are in the past, predicting the future, thus becoming a prophecy. ( Like in the Acholphyse of John, the coming of the 4 riders of the acholphyse.)

Characters

  • Some characters may be real, but some might not.
  • Gods have magical powers, but humans don't.
  • Some include magical creatures or talking animals.

Well, here are some books about myths, hope you read some of them
