What is biography?

Biography is a genre that tells about a person's life from someone else's view.

The word biography comes from the greek root and prefix, 'bio' and 'graphy.'

'Bio' means life and 'graphy' means written text, so it tells of the life of someone in written text.

Biography Traits

  1. Biography books have many thoughts of the main character.
  2. The book show main character's feelings.
  3. There are usually a lot of action going on, like being chased by enemies.
  4. The main character usually has accomplished something, such as winning an award.
  5. The main character is sometimes well-known, like Senator Hilary Clinton.
  6. There is usually a big problem that the character needs to fix or change, like slavery.
  7. The main character is usually the hero of the story, like Barack Obama, who became the first African American president.
