Memoir/Autobiography
What is an autobiography or Memoir?
A memoir and autobiography are both genres that fall under the large classification of non-fiction and both tell about special moments of an author's life.

What are the characteristics of a memoir and autobiography? While reading a memoir or autobiography you will often find words such as me, my, or I. All of these words indicate that the story is written in first person. This allows the author to include many thoughts and feelings. Another great part about reading one of these genres they are able to give real names of places such as the name of the steet they lived on. The author tends to include a lot of description and background information. What I found to be a special and unique characteristic is that these books can include real photos. Usually at the end, the author often makes a reflection or writes the moral or life lesson they have learned throughout the event.

Something I have learned from reading memoirs and autobiographies is that although they share many alike qualities is that they are two different genres.

You may be wondering how I have come to gather all of this information. I have come to know all of this from my own reading experience and other's with these autobiographies-memoirs
